Public Access

Mary Baldwin provides an academic library for the use of its students, faculty, and staff. Community residents are welcome to visit and to use designated library materials in accordance with library policies. Mary Baldwin reserves the right to restrict any individual from entering Grafton Library or from using any of its materials, equipment, facilities, or services.

Community Borrowers:

A library card is $25 per year for community residents over the age of 18 who live in Staunton, Waynesboro or Augusta County. To apply, you must present a photo ID showing your current address and pay the application fee. The library card will be issued and mailed within 5 business days.

A library card is required to borrow books from the library’s general collection, but does not include DVDs, reference items, bestsellers, periodicals, interlibrary loan or audiovisual equipment. Community borrowers may use designated workstations to search the library’s online catalog; however, other online resources are restricted to Mary Baldwin faculty, staff and students.

Cooperative Borrowing:

Mary Baldwin has cooperative library agreements allowing students from other libraries to check out materials using a current college/university I.D. via the VIVA Universal Borrowing Program. Please visit the Virtual Library of Virginia (VIVA) website for a list of participating institutions.
