Are you getting personalized results?

If you're signed into a google account, such as gmail, most likely your searched results are being personally tailored to you based on your previous searching habits. Google keeps track of our searching history and uses it to "better serve" our searching needs, such as bringing up search results based on our current geographic location. However, they also target us with advertisements based off our searching history.  If you'd like to turn off your personalized results, you click the globe button in the top right-hand corner of the search results. You can turn off personalized searching permanently, by going to the Search Settings button.
