Spaces: Spaces

Have a question about libray spaces not answered below? Email us at ask@marybaldwin.edu!

Grafton has a number of classrooms and spaces designed for student use. Students are encouraged to explore the library and make use of the space as they see fit. With minor exceptions, any space that is unlocked and unoccupied is available for use as a study space. We do require that you be respectful of those around you, so larger (i.e. louder) groups of students may be asked to move to more suitable spaces.

Group Study Room

There is a room on the Mezzanine (GRA301) set up for use as a group study room. The use of this room is first come, first serve. If you know you would like to make use of this room at a certain time, you can contact us at ask@marybaldwin.edu.

GRA105

GRA105 is a computer lab equipped for language instruction with 24 computers. This is first and foremost a classroom, but when classes are not in session, students are free to use the equipment. Please be aware that you may be asked to leave the classroom in order for a class to take place.

Reigner Room

The Reigner room on the Mezzanine floor is often used as a meeting space for various departments around campus. When it is not in use, students may use it as a study space. Be aware that you may be asked to leave the room if another event is scheduled.

GRA302

The library instruction classroom is located on the Mezzanine of the library. This room is reserved by the library, with priority to library instruction and librarians. We do allow others to use this room on a case by case basis. Send any requests to ask@marybaldwin.edu, or inquire at the front desk.

Study Carrels

Study carrels are available to students, and can be reserved on a semester-by-semester basis. If you'd like a carrel for the semester, inquire at the front desk.

Collab is now open!

Instructions for creating an Adobe Account can be found next to the computer.

Grafton Library Collab

The Grafton Library Collaborative Laboratory (Collab) is a collaborative working space designed for group projects, as well as sound, video, and image editing.

The lab contains a Mac equipped with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat, Premiere Pro, etc.), as well as a webcam and microphone to allow for video and audio recording.

Computers / Printing

Computers in the library

Desktop computers are located on the Main and Mezzanine floors for patron use. Between scheduled classes, Mary Baldwin community members can also use the computers in the computer lab on the first floor of the library. Consult the library's operating hours and the room schedules posted on lab doors.

Laptops

The library has a small circulating collection of laptops/chromebooks. These are available for 4 hour check-out at the circulation desk, and can be checked out using your MBU ID.

WiFi

Wireless access is available for patrons throughout the library. Patrons need to login to the Mary Baldwin network. If you experience issues with the wireless service, please contact the OIT Help Desk (** or 7075).

Printing

Combination copier / scanner / printers are available on the First and Main Floors. Mary Baldwin community members can copy, print, and scan documents. Printing is free but not unlimited: students can print approximately 1000 pages. A color printer is available on the Main floor of Grafton.

Remote or Wireless Printing

Mary Baldwin community members can print wirelessly to the printers in Grafton Library. First, add the printer app to your device:

For Mac users:  Link here

For Windows users:  Link here

For Chromebook users:  Link here

Once you've installed the app, you can send print jobs to the Konica Minolta printer option, which can be retrieved --with your MBU ID-- from any printer on campus.
