Digital Humanities: Home

Introduction

Digital Humanities is a nebulous term for projects that require computational analysis to examine data in a way that would not be possible or practical for a human to do without the use of technology.  While DH has been considered a separate field of study, it can also be viewed as another set of methodologies and tools for researchers to use to supplement or augment traditional research methods.  DH projects are often highly collaborative and new initiatives can require a team with a variety of research and technical skills, often consisting of a researchers, technologists, and librarians.  Many methodologies and tools used in DH projects are also used in the social sciences and hard sciences and projects often often multidisciplinary.
